Being members of an interconnected society, we all need to master the foundational skills of listening, communication, and cooperation in order to navigate everyday's life.
The theme of this year’s “BETTER TOGETHER Mini-camp” is “Design a natural playground for your parents”— parents will be invited to experience the design thinking process together with their kids aged 6 to 8. The programme will offer imaginative games tailor-made for embodied learning, through which kids must apply empathy and communication skills in teamwork to achieve genuine co-creation. This will also be an opportunity for parents to observe and develop empathetic understanding towards their kids, which is the key for mutual growth.
First, participants will learn about different emotions, as well as ways to empathise with others and apply communication skills. Parents and kids will then take part in separate group-based games designed to promote cooperation and team spirit.
In the second half of the programme, kids will interview their parents to learn about latter’s needs and preferences, and make use of organic materials from nature to create a “natural playground” designed for their own Mom and Dad. At the same time, father / mother will take an observer role to appreciate their kids’ personal feelings and needs, creating space for the cultivation of empathy within the family.
We have also designated 2 "Dad-and-kid" special sessions on the 14th and 20th of August. Put down your work for a minute, dads! Take this opportunity to learn more about your kids through an intimate bonding time during class.

Kids interviewed their parents to learn about latter’s needs and preferences. Through sense of understanding and imagination, they created “natural playground” with organic materials from nature e.g., leaves, branches, seeds, petals etc. for their own Mom and Dad.
